James Vennard IV grew up in lower Delaware and enjoyed playing with Legos, traveling the globe, and chocolate milk. Meanwhile, Sarah Kim Powers traveled from South Korea to upstate New York where she loved dancing, cooking, and poetry. While living in Philadelphia, SK took a job as a bar waitress (as students so often do). On Friday, May 13, 2005, Nick and Derek (thanks guys!) brought Jimmy to see a hipster band called Thunderbirds Are Now! It was at the Mill Creek Tavern that we met and exchanged information. One year and one week later, we were married.
Jimmy proposed on the rooftop of my Philadelphia apartment building with candles and guitar in hand. How romantic! Of course I said yes and the next morning, I rounded up my closet Penn buddies to share the exciting news! We walked to the store together to buy my first bridal magazine!
